Certified copies of birth, death and marriage certificates may be obtained from the office of the County Recorder in the following ways. ONLINE - Click here to order VITAL Records online. Mendocino County does not accept credit cards or online orders; however, for your convenience, you can process online requests through an independent company that we have partnered with to provide you this service; VitalChek Network, Inc. VitalChek can be reached through its website, www.vitalchek.com. An additional fee is charged by VitalChek for using this service, and all major credit cards are accepted, including American Express®, Discover®, MasterCard® or Visa®.
IN PERSON - You may come into the office, complete a request,
pay the required fee and a copy will be made for you while you wait. Copy orders are
made until 4:45 p.m. each day. Requests submitted after that time will be processed
the following day. We require identification. BY MAIL - You may mail your request to our office along with the
required fee and your copy will be made within 24 hours of receipt and mailed back to you.
All applicants requesting certified copies of
birth, death or marriage BY FAX or PHONE - Requests for certified copies of marriage, birth and death certificates may be ordered by fax using the correct form. These forms must be notarized & paid by credit card. |
