2006 Regulation 1 Amendments

(Grading and Indirect Source Fees)

In 2005 the District adopted the Particulate Matter Attainment Plan which recommended a number of control measures for particulate emissions.

Two of the recommended control measures are proposed to be added to District Regulation 1 at this time -

  • Permit requirements to control fugitive dust from large non-agricultural grading operations - This rule was adopted by District Board on 12/5/06.

  • Requiring indirect source fees from large new development projects - because of technical issues this proposed rule amendment is not proceeding at this time.

Public Input

Six Public Workshops were held around the county to receive public comment on these items in early March 2006.

Public comments were accepted until April 14th, 2006
