Mendocino County Redevelopment Agency - Archive Information
Redevelopment is the primary economic development and affordable housing tool for California communities and one of the more effective ways for communities with limited resources to provide assistance to rehabilitate homes and businesses, create jobs, create investments and improve neighborhood conditions.
The Redevelopment Agency of the County of Mendocino was established by County Ordinance No. 4029 on January 26, 1999.
Authorized and organized under the provisions of the California Redevelopment Law, the Agency is an entity
legally separate from the County of Mendocino, and currently performs certain functions exclusively to the
Redevelopment Project Area. The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors also serves as in the capacity of the
Board of Directors of the Redevelopment Agency and Agency business is posted concurrently with the Master
Meeting Schedule for the Board of Supervisors.
On July 8, 2003 the Board of Supervisors adopted Ordinance No. 4111 adding Chapter 11.12 Adopting a Redevelopment Plan for the first Redevelopment Project Area in the unincorporated area of the county.
The Project Area contains approximately 772 acres and is located in the Ukiah Valley, generally parallel to U.S. Hwy 101.
