Energy Conservation and Recycling

On June 5, 2000, the Board of Supervisors adopted the Energy
Conservation Policy. Buildings and
Grounds assists departments in implementing the mandated conservation measures
and meeting the goals for reducing their energy consumption.

Recycling:
The Facilities and Fleet Division is responsible for administering and maintaining the Recycling program for the County, including the following: - Custodial service personnel work to
ensure that the materials are removed to the collection area and picked up in a
timely manner and monitor
the departments on their recycling efforts and report any failure to recycle to
the General Services Agency Director.
- Review and approve department recycling
implementation plans;
- Provide all employees with standardized
recycling and waste bins;
- Provide all locations with recycling bins
where a waste bin exists (i.e. conference rooms, etc…);
- Track results and report on progress to
the County Executive Office toward established waste reduction and recycling goals;
- The County's Recycling Policy
