Shelter Spotlight

Do you know all over the US black furred pets in shelters are finding it hard to find homes?  For this reason the Ukiah Shelter is joining with shelters and rescue groups all over the country to reduce the adoption fees in May.

  • We need volunteers! Animal Care provides an orientation for volunteers on the first Wednesday of every month at 5:45 PM at the Ukiah Shelter. Stop by and join us, or call 463-4427 for more information!
  • Renew Your Pet License Online: County Animal Care accepts animal license renewals online.

  • Is Your Pet Lonely?
  • The Emergency Operations Plan for Domestic Pet Care is now available.
  • Animal Care Services are offered to all residents through one central shelter location in Ukiah.
  • The Ukiah Shelter Black Furred Friends Promotion will run May 29th through June 2nd. All black furred animals will have the low adoption fee of $50. For adopters who live in Mendocino County there will be an added fee of $25 for a one-year dog license. You can come to meet your future animal companion at the Ukiah Shelter 298 Plant Rd . The shelter is open Tues, Thurs, Fri and Sat 10-4:30 and Wed 10-6:30. To see all the dogs at the shelter log onto www.pawstoadopt.com and to see cats at the shelter go to www.petfinder.com

Please Note: Animal Control in unincorporated areas of Mendocino County is handled by the Mendocino County Sheriffs Office. All field service calls in the County which include loose dogs, barking dogs, humane complaints and animal bites should be called in to the Sheriffs dispatch at 463-4086. Similar calls within the Ukiah city limits should be directed to the Ukiah Police Department at 463-6262, and within the Ft Bragg city limits should be directed to the Ft Bragg Police Department at 964-0200.
