The County of Mendocino EAP is now facilitated through Managed Health Network (MHN)![]() Call EAP @ 800-535-4985 (24 hrs a day) If you are in crisis, please say "emergency" at the prompt. Almost everyone experiences problems, at work or at home, that can affect work performance. Problems can most successfully be treated when they are identified in their early stages. The EAP professional staff at Managed Health Network (MHN) can help explore your concerns and identify possible solutions. There are three ways MHN can provide counseling services. You can use EAP for face to face counseling with a local MHN network provider, telephonic counseling with a licensed MHN clinician, or web-video counseling with a licensed MHN network provider. The network of attorney's is extensive. They deal with almost all types of legal mattes, while mediators typically cover divorce and child custody, contractual and consumer disputes, real estate and landlord tenant issues, car accidents and insurance disputes. Members who wish to retain an attorney or mediator after the free initial consultation are entitled to a 25% discount. To use the Legal Services, simply call MHN Member Services at 1-800-535-4985 and at the second prompt say "Legal or Financial Services". FINANCIAL SERVICES: MHN's financial services help members manage their money better, reduce stress and increase productivity. Services include credit counseling, debt reduction, and budget planning (up to 60 minutes per separate financial issue) and even specialized tax assistance, plus a wealth of tips, information and online tools. Members are entitled to a 25% discount on additional services. DEPENDENT CARE: Childcare & Eldercare problems can bring on frustration, stress, worry and guilt. MHN helps members assess dependent care needs and evaluate appropriate resources. of care, Choosing the type of care that best fits their needs, Accessing
comprehensive resource/referral directories and Monitoring and
re-evaluating the care that family members receive. Call MHN Member

DAILY LIVING SERVICES: MHN's Daily Living Services save members time and trouble by helping with everyday challenges (retirement planning, arranging transportation, apartment hunting, buying theater tickets etc.) by functioning as an information broker and service locater. Members can access the service 24/7, and they receive a response by telephone, email, or fax (your choice) within 72 hours of the inquiry. Responses typically include the contact names and telephone numbers of 3-5 service providers. Call MHN Member Services at 1-800-535-4985 and say "Other Services" at the second prompt. IDENTITY THEFT SERVICES: By providing telephonic consultation services with an identity recovery professional, MHN helps members recover from identity theft, and teaches them how to avoid the problem in the future. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:Q: How many counseling sessions do I receive?A: Effective 7/1/2011, County of Mendocino employees (and members of their household) are eligible for 6 FREE confidential counseling sessions per incident/issue, per individual, per calendar year. Q: How does the 6 Sessions per calendar year, per incident/issue work? A: For example, say you normally use EAP for work related stress. If you use all 6 sessions in a calendar year for work related stress, but have another issue occur like a death in the family, or family/relationship issues, you will receive another set of 6 sessions for grief & loss, and nother 6 sessions for family/relationship issues and so on. Q: What happens when I have exhausted all of my covered sessions? A: If you would like to continue seeing the same local network provider, you will be seeing them in the course of their private practice. Your standard health insurance deductibles will apply. Q: How do I find out if my provider is in the MHN Network? A: You can visit the MHN website (members.mhn.com) and once you have entered the company code log in, click on Practioner Search in the upper right hand corner. This will allow you to do a local search by zipcode for a list of providers in your area. You may also call MHN and they can tell you if the provider is in their network. Q: What if I would like to change EAP providers? A: You can switch to another local EAP provider at any time. You will need to call MHN and receive authorization for the new provider before having a session.
