The Mendocino County Internship Program offers students learning opportunities in a variety of fields, while enriching public service for Mendocino County. Whether a student is determining which career path to take or fulfilling an academic requirement to begin their career, an internship is a great way to get started. What is an intern?
A person who works as an apprentice or trainee in an occupation or
profession to gain practical experience, and sometimes also to satisfy legal or
other requirements for being licensed or accepted professionally.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible
for an internship, the intern must receive academic credit or fulfill an
academic requirement of a related program of an approved educational
institution (High School, College, University, Work Programs).
What does it pay?
Internships
can be both paid and unpaid and salaries may vary depending on assignment.
How long is an
internship?
All internships are a
minimum of 3 months and maximum of
1 year in length. Interns may work a minimum of 8 hours and a
maximum of 40 hours per week. Each
internship may vary in length and hours worked.
