Starting on Tuesday,
February 9th, the Children’s Library, with Charlene Light, will be
hosting a six week chess experience for children ages 7 to 17. We
realize that mostly home schooled children will be able to participate, but this
will be a start. Younger children are welcome if they already know
the rudiments of the game and have the concentration needed to
participate.
The session will be from
1:00 to 2:00 and will begin with a short lesson on how to play chess, chess
strategies and more. All levels are welcome, from beginners to
those with loads of experience. Some experienced players have
offered to help the beginners learn to get acquainted with the game.
