WHAT WE DO
The Long Range Planning division addresses priority planning projects in a comprehensive and timely manner. The division is focused on advancing planning and priority implementation activities including completion of the Ukiah Valley Area Plan, County General Plan
Update, Local Coastal Program update including Mendocino Town Plan update, and
implementation of the County Housing Element. Browse this site to learn more about each

WHO WE ARE
Patrick Ford, Planner
Patrick comes to us from Tulare County Planning Department and the Tulare Council of Governments where he specialized in resource and transportation planning
related projects. While there he worked on such tasks as mineral policy development, demographic research and land use modeling. He brings to the team a broad range of technical skills and interests in energy, sustainability
and other environmentally-related issues.
Diana Hershey, Planner
Diana is a current resident of Lake County where she spent the last six years focusing on restoration using native plants that are culturally significant to
Native American Tribes. Using her grant writing skills and background in restoration ecology she has secured funding for several large projects
including the removal of migration barriers to the Clear Lake Hitch currently on Clover Creek. Her range of interests include riparian restoration, resource
conservation, cultural resource protection, and sustainable planning.
